• Avoid old rose beds unless soil has been altered
or rejuvenated
• For a massed effect plant approximately one metre apart
PREPARATION
• Mix half pre-plant mix into soil incorporating it with the rose roots
• Use the balance of the bag as a surface mulch
WATERING
• Water regularly with a deep weekly soaking, especially after planting•
Always water at base of plant, avoid overhead watering
• Apply a layer of mulch to help retain soil moisture
FEEDING TIMES
• Use Wormswork for Kim Syrus 750ml rose plant spray when plant begins to
bud in spring
• Can be feed with Wormswork composite castings mix in December, feed
castings again late in February as a surface mulch
PRUNING
• Requires no major pruning in the first two years but can be lightly
trimmed• After two years remove dead canes during winter
• Trim flower stems by approximately two thirds
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
(BARE ROOTED PLANTS – WINTER DORMANT)
• Shake off excess sawdust from roots
• Soak rose roots for 1 hour prior to planting
• Dig a hole twice as wide as the roots and combine ½ wormswork pre-plant
• Create a small mound in the planting area with remaining wormswork
pre-plant for roots to sit on
• Position plant so main stem and bud union is 25mm above soil level
• Backfill with soil
• Water well with a deep weekly soaking

(CONTAINER GROWN PLANTS – ANY TIME OF THE YEAR) • Dig a hole larger than pot and combine all Wormswork pre-plant to base of hole • Remove well watered plant from pot without disturbing roots • Place into hole and gently backfill with soil • Water in well via deep soaking • Trim back stems by half if during winter dormancy time |
